[일상] 이항 드론
사람을 태울 수 있는 드론을 개발한 이항에 대하여 논란이 많습니다.

이항은 사람을 태울 수 있는 드론으로 유명한 회사입니다. 서울시에서 이항사 드론을 구입하여 한강 위를 택시로 운행하겠다는 야심찬 계획을 발표하면서 1대를 구입했었죠. 실제로 사람과 몸무게가 비슷한 80kg 쌀가마를 싣고 시험 비행도 했었습니다. 이후 서울 시장이 직접 탑승할 계획이었으나 무기한 연기가 되었습니다.

이러한 서울시의 움직임을 등에 업고 이항은 국내에서 사업 설명회를 개최하며 국내 투자가에게 많이 소개가 되었습니다. 국내 투자가가 이항에 투자를 많이 한 이유라고 합니다. 한 보고서에 따르면 국내에서 6천억 원 정도 투자를 하였다고 합니다. 

국내 투자가의 투자 때문인지 주가도 최근들어 엄청나게 급등을 했습니다. 작년에 7-9불 정도에서 거래가 되었는데, 최고가 129불까지 올라갔었습니다.

하지만 울프팩 리서치에서 이항에 대한 공매도 보고서를 발표하였습니다. 이 보고서에 따르면 이항은 다음 세가지 큰 문제점을 가지고 있습니다.

- 매출이 조작되었을 가능성
- 광저우 공장은 제대로 갖춰지지 않았음
- 미국·캐나다·유럽 등에서 승인 받은 인증 등이 승객 수송에 대한 기준을 충족하지 못함

이 보고서가 발표된 후 이항의 주가는 60% 이상이 폭락하였으면 지금은 $50 정도에 거래가 되고 있습니다.

보고서 내용을 보면 이항이 기술력과 매출 그리고 생산 능력에 대하여 의심을 할 수 밖에 없습니다. 가장 큰 문제는 이항에서 사용하는 드론의 모터가 사람을 태울 수 있는 수준의 안정성을 가지지 않았다는 점입니다. 일반 드론에서 사용하는 모터가 사용되었다고 하니 이건 정말 문제가 클 수 있습니다. 물론 이전 모델에 대한 분석이므로 신규 모델에서는 다른 모터가 사용되었을 수도 있습니다. 하지만 서울시에 판매한 드론에 사람을 태울 수 있다고 언급을 하였기 때문에 책임을 피하기는 어려울 것 같습니다.

이항 측에서 책임있는 답변이 나와야 의문이 해결될 것 같습니다.

중국 회사에 대한 신뢰가 무너지는 또 하나의 사건이 될 것인지, 아니면 세계적인 기술력을 가진 회사의 출현인지에 대한 우려반/기대반 상태입니다.
