<center>March is one of those months that doesn’t see a lot of activity. It is placed right in the middle of the end of the school year between Christmas and the summer. This makes it tough on gaming fans because not many companies see value in releasing games during this month. There were a few notable things that happened on March 27th through the years though.

**March 27th, 2007** – Microsoft announced the Xbox 360 Elite console. The new console featured a larger hard drive and the ability to output HDMI. Units were reported on store shelves beginning in April 2007.

**March 27th, 2002** – Army Men: RTS was released by The 3DO Company for the Playstation 2 console. Army Men: RTS was unique in that you were literally building little plastic men to do your bidding – collecting plastic and electricity were the main resources here.

Also, we saw Konami release ESPN MLS ExtraTime 2002 on the Xbox console. Soccer was one of the only sports that Konami saw success with.

**March 27th, 1997** - Vandal Hearts is released on the Playstation console bringing a mature turn based strategy game into the 3D world. Blood and swears abound in this extremely good TBS game by Konami (nostalgia article coming soon).

**March 27th, 1994** – Origin releases Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger which was an attempt to fuse up and coming Full Motion Video with actual gameplay wrapped around it. Space exploration/action was never quite the same again. Notable for the actors that appeared, including a former porn star.

**March 27th, 1984**– IBM releases the PCjr in hopes to enter the home computer market. Fails horribly for various reasons.
