*Can anyone be a professional poker player?*

I personally think it is possible for anybody to become a professional poker player. Don't get me wrong, by no means am I saying it is an easy feat. Quite the contrary, in fact. Just because I think anyone can become a pro, doesn't mean anyone will do so...

I equate being a professional poker player to a professional golfer. Golf is another sport that anyone can play. You don't need a particular type of body to play. It doesn't matter if you're fat, skinny, short, tall - all you have to do is pick up a stick, and go play. In the same fashion as poker, I think anyone can become a professional golfer...but again, it does not mean everyone will do so.

What the hell are you getting at BigP? Stop babbling and get to the point. I am, I am...give me a second. 

### 2 Things That Makes A Professional Poker Player / Professional Golfer 

* **Discipline (in all walks of life)** - something that ALL OF US are capable of, but don't necessarily implement on a day to day basis. Both poker players, and golfers have god like levels of discipline. (Well the good ones, anyway.) Whether they are playing poker 4-5 days a week, or hitting 4-500 golf balls everyday. 

* **Mental Toughness** - this is the kicker. The one thing that all of us have deep inside, but most of us do not know how to harness. This is what sets non-professionals apart from the pros. In poker you need immense amounts of mental toughness to withstand bad beats, and the tendency to go on tilt. No difference in golf. It is the pros ability to look past the bad shots that makes them the big bucks.
