This photo set is continued from [part 1](https://steemit.com/photography/@unipsycho/river-at-dawn-before-a-day-of-whitewater-rafting), of the photos just after dawn along the river that I was able to find before a day of rafting down the river.

I thought this tree was really cool, half dying, but still half living as its eroding away at the roots and starting to hang out over the river.

I thought it might make a good selfie shot.

I think these are just a weed, but they look cool, growing about 1m up off the ground along areas of the river bank.

My camera has a color feature, where you can select a color on screen and just draw that out, so the rest is black and white.  I thought it turned this otherwise, dull image into something that really popped out.

I loved these low bushes (not sure if they are a juniper or not) but they had pretty soft needles, so I got a few macro shots of them here.

I liked the orange licken on the rocks and thought they would look HUGE if I set the focus on the distant tree.  The reality was, these rocks were only about 50cm wide in the view area.

So, the water looks peaceful and tames here but just upstream is...

The start of some of the rapids you can see.  These log wall jams are particularly dangerous when rafting since if you ever get caught in one of them, you can get forced against, pushed underwater or a leg jammed in underwater.  Definitely stay away.

So, hopping out on some rocks, gives you a close perspective of one of the rapids. Many many like this and bigger ones to ride for the day!

Oddly enough, some of the rapids end up catching animals in their eddie currents, even the amazing swimmer, the beaver.  These poor beavers got caught in the eddies and eventually floated out into these little rock pools just beside the rapids.

I love when you can get out on the rocks right beside a good rapid.

Downstream are some nice rollers which if you can hit em in the raft will definitely get you wet and a wild ride!

Just a few steps into the woods and off the limit

I found this shaded wet rock that had a nice contrast with the sunlit river and rocks in the background.

Another really cool moss area I thought I could capture a nice macro with the sun just rising into the trees behind.  I like this one with the bright bright greens a lot.

And any edge of a forest just isn't a proper edge of a forest without some really active ant piles right?

I guess these ants are early risers as well, they certainly made themselves look very busy.
