Fear not anymore! Introducing TinyPNG your one stop shop for Image Compression. What exactly is TinyPNG? TinyPNG is a tool which compresses an image to lower file sizes without greatly reducing the image quality.

<h2>Coming from my point of view</h2>
As a Web Developer it is very essential to have images compressed to the lowest possible size but not compromise the quality. Image file sizes greatly affect the site load of a website. It is a matter of life and death as it is really a big deal. When your site loads for longer than 10 seconds you can potentially lose many clients or visitors. One way to alleviate this is to compress the images you use on your website.

<h2>TINYPNG</h2>
Basically it is an online image comrpession tool which implements Smart PNG and JPEG compression. It optimizes images with a perfect balance of quality and file size. The site looks like this:

<h2>What does TINYPNG do?</h2>
TinyPNG implements smart lossy compression techniques that reduce the file size of PNG/JPEG files. Selectively decreasing the number of colors in the image. The results of the reduction of colors is nearly impossible to see but it makes a big difference in file size.

<h2>Why would I use TINYPNG?</h2>
Use TINYPNG to reduce the file size of your images that you will use in your apps or websites. It will lessen the bandwidth and make your app/site load faster.

<h2>How to use TINYPNG?</h2>
It is very easy you just drag and drop your image files PNG/JPEG to the upload box and then it will be done. I will take you through the process.

1. Go to the site https://tinypng.com/
2. Drag and drop the images you want to compress on the upload box.

3. After dragging the images to the upload box it will start the upload and compression. It will look something like this. You can continue to drag and drop to the upload box. Do not worry.

4. After the upload and compression, it will look like this. You can now download the compressed image. The box at the bottom will then display the percentage and total savings of the compression. Look at that we uploaded a 2.6MB image now it is compressed to 557KB with 78%/2MB Total of savings. That really is a big deal the 2.6MB image would have taken a century to load! You can now then download the image or the zip file if you uploaded many images.

We will then compare the two images the compressed and uncompressed image to see if there are changes in the image quality

Look at that the images are similar and I could not detect pixelation or changes in quality. Compressing images are essential sometimes that 2MB savings in file size is really great.
