Flashback Fridays at The Abbey are all about #retrogaming and ActRaiser is easily one of my favorite Super Nintendo titles of all time.

A long, long time ago there were  physical locations where one could rent things called VHS tapes and yes, even video game cartridges; this is how I discovered ActRaiser.

ActRaiser is a very unique game in general, and certainly for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
It blends platforming with top down shooting and even soft city management.  
All of this combined with the incredibly rich colors, gnarly beasts, and excellent soundtrack blew my tiny, gamer mind!
To this day, I haven't found a game quite like ActRaiser and it is such a pleasure to be sharing this experience with you here at The Abbey!
