*17-time Grand Slam Champion* and *current World No. 2* **Rafael Nadal** withdrew from the *semi-final* of the *2019 BNP Paribas Open* with a right knee injury thereby giving a walkover to the *20-time Grand Slam Champion* **Roger Federer** who booked his place into yet another final at the Indian Wells Masters and will be looking to win a record 6th title today.

Rafael Nadal will also skip the *2019 Miami Open* and will now likely make his comeback at the *2019 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters* in April. 

***Over the past couple of years Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from nearly two dozen non-clay tournaments due to injury***. However, strangely, he has still managed to play the entire three-month long clay season fully in each of these seasons, sometimes playing up to five tournaments back-to-back.
