<center>*A homeless and or impoverished person is clearly asking for assistance, be it monetary or some other type of sustenance. You give them what you can offer and they don‘t react with anything to your charitable act. Now does this anger you? It shouldn‘t. It shouldn‘t even disappoint you. Are you upset that they didn‘t say thank you? Do you want your „gift“ back now because you feel they were not appropriately thankful or grateful enough? Will it now prevent you or discourage you from giving or helping this specific individual or others in general because of this experience and interaction?

I see it as though that although they may have been able to mask the fact that asking for help is embarrassing in their unfortunate and current situation, they are appreciative on the inside even if they may not show it in the moment so openly and blatantly, and we should just give to give without expecting anything in return. Or maybe they are so twisted up in their frets and worried and stress that no amount of money or help can bring them out of their depressive, spiritually down and oppressed state. We don‘t really know what they are feeling or are going through. That is between them and God, unless we feel compelled or moved by the Holy Spirit to make a real connection and show true concern and delve deeper into their life if they are willing to allow us to make that connection to help them further.

We should always give with a cheerful attitude and we don‘t need to give for any self-serving reason. We should actually be thankful ourselves to even be in the position to help others and doing good because that is what is is expected of us and we find doing good as good and righteous. Especially knowing that God does not let people into Heaven because they do good works. That does not matter to Him. You could cure all diseases and end world hunger and homelessness, but if you don’t have an individual and personal relationship with your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ then you are not guaranteed everlasting life/salvation, point blank period.*</center>
