IOTA will be stepping up its participation on Climate KIC deep demonstration on long-termism to make the society a sustainable place for living, a report has said.

IOTA said the fact that humans make decisions without examining its long-term result on the environment, motivated it in joining the cause. Human actions have been affirmed as being disastrous to the environment in the long and short term.

No doubt, the depletion of our natural environment and other things that has to do with climate change greatly impact humans’ well-being as well as aggregate risk that may be unleashed into the society at large scale. Hence, IOTA is working to enhance the ability to make climate positive decisions.

Using the blockchain protocol in a bottom-up approach, IOTA will be transforming “short-term thinking in investment cycles and in traditional ideas of economic value creation” into a long-term sustainable idea.

The project will focus on examining how long-term mindset can be used to tackle the destruction of ecosystems and the improvement of human livelihoods.

Joining the Deep Demonstration on Long Termism project, IOTA believes it can help transform the society in making decisions that will make desirable future a reality, using IOTA Tangle technology.

IOTA envisions a healthier future powered by trusted network that helps connect humans and the machine economy. With this, people can easily navigate complex societal problems using open data commons, new notions of value and peer-to-peer economies.

Furthermore, IOTA Foundation has provided a number of application blueprints to inspire people in building new projects to support its idea. IOTA is willing to hear ideas on how best its protocol and technology can help drive and discover “the emergence of new, long-term sustainable practices and value-chains.”

On December 10, 2019, IOTA Foundation will invite projects with the three best ideas to a full-day workshop where experts from the international development sector are to be gathered.

Together with the IOTA foundation team, experts including the owners of the projects will brainstorm and work on how the ideas could be maturated and tested into the real-world settings.
