Predatory Inclination

Yesterday my bird, Sam, decided to fly out of his cage and land near my lazyboy chair.  Newt, in classic cat style, will forever follow his predatory instincts and hunt the bird. I carefully watch over the bird. Newt did make a move to rush the bird, but Sam was not to be intimidated and rushed Newt right back, who backed off when confronted by a squawking Sam.

This bird and cat scene continued until I needed to leave the room, so I presented my arm as a perch and taxied Sam to his cage.

Today marks day two of a terrible migraine highlighted with unusual amounts of nausea. My boyfriend, Jeff, drove me to physical therapy and back this morning and I slept all afternoon having lay from 8:30 PM to 1:30 AM unable to sleep because of the pain last night.

Tomorrow I receive botox injections for the migraines.   This is the second migraine since my hip surgery 11/08/18. I suspect the higher nausea with the last two migraines has something to do with the anesthesia I had.  I hope the botox calms them back down.

It's now a year since I began botox. I get the injections every 3 months. Insurance pays for it after deductable and coins.  It is a preventive for chronic migraine when traditional meds fail.  It takes two or three sets of injections to start making an impact.  The goal is to prevent & lessen the severity of migraine.  Since my past injections were in September, the effects have worn off and hopefully today's will bring them under control.  The whole summer was migraine free, but even after the September set, I was getting them too often. I attribute this to barometric changes. After surgery I had 0 until last week.  Its been a while since I had one as bad as yesterdays and I am in "prodome".  *sigh* Do you get migraines?

I'm glad that I had the break during my recouping over the hip. Thank you for checking in.

Thanks, @mariannewest, the past two days were very challenging. I am up early now because I was too hungry to sleep.  I eat very little during a migraine and I slept a lot or just lay in the dark for this one.  The cycle seems to be as the effects wear off from botox the migraines return until the new injections are received.  Since my return to work date is Monday,  I hope things will level back off. I am just glad that they took a back burner while I was bed ridden.  It's so good to be up and moving.
