Hi everyone! I haven't missed a week of Thursday is Butterfly Day and Insect Day Giveaway in 30 weeks but I must postpone Week -31 for this coming Thursday, 10-10. My brother's wife has been in the hospital for the past 2 weeks. She was scheduled for surgery today, 10-9 but she took a turn for the worse and the surgery was postponed. Howdy jonboy! My poor SIL has been through hell and back but is out of ICU and beginning a slow recovery. It all began when she fell and fractured her knee. She spent 3 days in the hospital and was then transferred to a nursing home/rehab facility while waiting for her heart doctor to approve surgery. She has Afib (sp?). During her short time in the nursing home she fell out of her wheel chair. How in the hell do you fall out of a wheel chair when all you are doing is sitting in it with one leg propped up?!?! That is when everything went downhill and none of the stories were adding up. The nursing home called when she fell out of the wheel chair but said that she was fine and there were no injuries. We get there and her right eye was black and blue and swollen shut and she was saying that her right side was hurting, and that she had troubles breathing. Called the doc at the hospital and had her transferred that evening back to the hospital. 5 of her ribs were broken on her right side, punctured a lung and was filling up with blood so they had to put a chest tube in to drain and to help her breath. Remember, no surgery on her knee was performed yet. A day later she goes into convulsions and she almost died. They had to put her on a respirator for 3 days. We found out that the nursing home put her on 2 of their own pain meds along with her own meds, without telling my brother. The docs think that is what caused the convulsions. Before the convulsions started, she didn't recognize anyone and was talking out of her mind. To make a longer story shorter, she had her knee surgery a couple of days ago, out of the ICU and is beginning to heal now. Praise God!!!!! My SIL is strong and not in bad health so everything that she went through shocked all of us, even the doctors. Hope all is well with you jonboy and thanks for your concern.

Holy smokes! My gosh what a trial to have to go through. If you guys hadn't gotten her back to the hospital she probably would have died. The nursing home thought she would be fine? wow, that's scary. Thanks so much for the catch up, I can see why you haven't had time to be on steemit for awhile!
