One of the proofs of the ressurection is that these followers died for their beliefs and never recanted the story or truth of the resurrection. If it was a sham, many or at least some would have lost their nerve, especially facing death.

That is really true. People were talking about the resurrection of Christ was just a lie and all that, I say simply look at the 12 disciples' lives! All of the flee when Jesus were captured, and even Peter - who claimed he would even die for Jesus end up denying Him 3 times - EVEN TO A LITTLE SERVANT GIRL!! But look at how everyone of them seem not afraid of anything after they claimed and met the resurrected Jesus, they were bold, aggressive, and full of joy even in the midst of extreme persecution.

Charles colson is absolutely right. secret can never be kept by 12 people not even mentioning mary. Thank God for the death and resurrection of Christ. That is what make me a new creation my old deeds are passed away. Thank you brother for another inspiring message.
