Ho dato io questo nome al caffè gustato in val d'aosta. Siamo usciti e passeggiando tra i tanti negozietti, mi sono imbattuta nella "coppa dell'amicizia", cosi' è da loro chiamata. Si versano nella coppa dell'amicizia dei cucchiaini di zucchero le cui dosi dipendono dalle persone che lo sorbiranno, poi si aggiunge il caffè appena uscito dalla caffettiera, la grappa e il genepì. Riscaldiamo il tutto trasferendo su fuoco la coppa dell'amicizia, ma su fiamma quasi al minimo, o riscaldando a bagnomaria. Immettere una buccia di limone, aumentando il fuoco e coprendo la coppa con il coperchio: la particolarità, non da tutti condivisa, compresa me, sta nel dare l'opportunità a qualsiasi commensale di bere dal beccuccio posto nella coppa dell'amicizia il caffè caldissimo. La coppa dell'amicizia è un recipiente di legno non alto che in val d'aosta si chiama "grolla" cui i commensali attingono passandosi la stessa e bevendo rispettando i turni. Questo caffè è una bevanda invernale e ha lo scopo oltre che di riscaldare, di indurre ad una veloce digestione. E da qui, vari detti antichi di cui uno che riferendosi alla coppa dell'amicizia dice che "chi beve solo si strozza". Occorrono, per riassumere a seconda delle persone, per esempio quattro: quattro tazzine di caffè forte non ristretto, quattro di grappa e due di genepì, liquore delle Alpi, accompagnate dalla buccia di limone. Ovviamente non si accompagna con nessun vino.
