So why am I saying "this cat is killing me"? Well, the painting I'm showing you today is actually the third time I've painted this particular cat. Since it's from a reference photo, the darn cat looks more or less the same every time, but I just can't get a handle on how to do his fur! It still isn't right, but at least I don't hate this third version. That's a start.

_Warum sage ich also "diese Katze bringt mich um"? Nun, das Bild, das ich euch heute zeige, ist schon das dritte Mal, dass ich genau diese Katze gemalt habe. Da es von einem Referenzfoto stammt, sieht die verdammte Katze jedes Mal mehr oder weniger gleich aus, aber ich kann einfach nicht ausklabustern, wie ich ihr Fell hinkriege! Es sieht immer noch nicht richtig aus, aber wenigstens hasse ich diese dritte Version nicht. Das ist schon mal ein Anfang._

Personally, I believe the Universe is conspiring against me, or something of that nature. Cats have nine lives, they say, so I guess I'm doomed to paint him another six times. This is probably all part of the Universe's employment program, to get me through the Covid 19 quarantine. That's my theory, and I'm sticking with it!
