Adventures & Explorations #87

For the next couple days, we'll be exploring a rather large piece of artwork known as "Queen Califia's Magic Circle". Created by French sculptor Nikki de Saint Phalle in 2000, it's located on the outskirts of Kit Carson Park in Escondido, California. I've been there a couple times. This particular visit was in April, 2004.

After trekking through the park for a little bit, you know you're getting close when you see this sign.

And there it is! Hiding amongst the shrubbery.

As you get closer, you get a better idea of how large it really is.

That snake-topped wall is at least 6-8 feet tall!
