### In Ukrainian, the name of this plant sounds like chystotil, which means "one who cleanses the body" and this name was not accidental. Celandine is extremely well-known in folk medicine and is used to remove warts and heal wounds that have not been healed for a long time. Is one of the few plants that are very effective in treating cancer. Celandine maintains the development of even malignant tumors and effectively kills bacteria-pathogens of tuberculosis. As medicinal grass, celandine is equivalent to ginseng by the number of therapeutic properties. celandine in Greece was called Chelidonium Mayus, from the word "chelidon" - "swallow". There was a belief that swallows gather juicy celandine and fly with him to the diseased children to return their eyesight. However, celandine - a plant poisonous, so it is not necessary that its juice fall into the eye.

Існувало повір'я, ніби ластівки збирають сік чистотілу і летять з ним до сліпонароджених дітей для повернення їм зору. Проте чистотіл - рослина отруйна, тому не варто, щоб його сік потрапляв в очі.
