측정이 얼마나 신뢰할만한지 나타낼 때,
과학에서는 '정밀도'와 정확도'라는 용어를 사용한다.

정밀하다.
정확하다.

정확도는 영어로 accuracy이고
정밀도는 영어로 precision이다.

일상생활에서는 두 용어를 크게 구분할 일이 없지만
과학에서는 두 용어의 의미가 다르다.

그림으로 보면 빠르다.

정밀도는 같은 양을 여러번 측정했을 때
얼마나 비슷하게 나오는가를 나타낸다. 

(사격에서 영점 사격의 탄착군이라 
생각하면 이해가 빠를지도 모른다)

정확도는 측정 데이터가
얼마나 참값에 근접하고 있는가를 나타낸다.

정확도가 높은지 낮은지를 알기 위해서는
'참값'이란 게 있어야 하고,
우리가 참값을 알아야 한다.
