<hr><p>While some songs show up and then fade, becoming less relevant as time passes – this song is an <i>evergreen</i>; I suspect the sentiments that inspired its creation will always exist within me.</p>

<p>There is a melancholy, in both the lyrics and vocal phrasing – an unabashed honesty about the lonely 'groundlessness' I was feeling at the time. As with most of my songs, it speaks to the challenges of <i>being human</i>, then ends with an uplifting bit of hopeful optimism.</p>

<p>While it wasn't written with concern for how it might be received, I've been humbled by how many people seem to personally connect with it. As a songwriter, <i>that really is the sweetest gift</i> – to know that my truth is <i>relatable</i>; that my struggle is an experience shared by many others.</p>
