To be sure I no longer have very much trust in western governments. 9/11 has taught me that they can't be trusted.
However I don't believe that anarchy is the solution to our problems.
In the last few years alone there are quite a few examples for warlords or rather violent gangs having taken over the minute the state had broken down.
This happened in Iraq right after George W Bush declared "Mission Accomplished". There was a giant wave of lootings, rape, kidnapping and extortion until finally sectarian militias took over and a weak puppet government was sponsored by the Americans.
In Libya the whole country has broken up and every part is under the thumb of  a different violent war lord and their militia gang.
I believe the best option would be a decentralized system of small entities of  direct democracies, small enough everyone's voice can be heard and his or opinion taken in account should he or she choose to speak out. In these small entities the people would give themselves laws and rules under which they want to live.
Because I for my account do not want to live in a place where there are no rules. For instance I would feel extremely uncomfortable and even threatened if a whole bunch of men around me would decide to run around naked all day. Now if those naked men were confined during their nudity exploits only to a certain part of the beach, I could live with it, since I could avoid that beach. But this would mean the community would set such a rule, supported by the majority of its members and that would be a kind of government function.
