An often overlooked facet is that the financial institutions are currently the only ones having a global view of monetyry transactions. Not even nation states nor their central banks do have this global view, leaving effectively power to the banks. Blockchain technology could alter this power distribution. Total information awareness for all participants or total anonymity.
