Net inflows into the system are actually tiny and a small fraction of the market cap. It's probably about 1/5 of all money put in. I'm glad you're aware of the issue. Trust is everything as far as the fiat price is concerned, even though we're supposed to be dealing with supposedly trustless systems we still depend on markets that people place faith in to operate properly.

That's why.. We REALLY need decentralized systems of exchange.. No clue why we're dealing with tether, coinbase, kraken, or any of these idiots. Crypto devs need to build a team for a fully decentralized bounty based exchange... Where there is an error log, and a SMT voting system for bounties to fix the open sourced code.

I might be hypocritical to complain about decentralized exchanges, but I don't like some, I won't mention which ones, when they are kind of evasive on answering how exactly they peg the values of their internal currencies, and god I hate the lag and disconnecting from the node every other second, lol. Yeah, the development of a good one should be resilient and empowered by the community itself with the community's interests at heart, or we'll continue to struggle with all these fly by night piles of poo.
