If the customer is a total Techno Noob, in order to deploy the DDoS bot against a major website will cost at least another $400-$500 in today's Cyber Terrorist market. Big Corporations can easily lose billions in revenue as the result of even hours of downtime. It's not uncommon for such entities to easily - and willingly - pay >$5,000/month for outsourced DDoS protection. But even then, if the DDoS'ing perp is smarter (or, for whatever reason, a person on the inside goes rogue), that expensive protection - the protection that was supposed to ease executives' minds - may prove utterly worthless in the end.
