One more reason why cryptocurrencies are rising this fast is the fact that many PM longtime investors are fed up, they're tired after this long period of price suppression. When they nowadays watch the cryptocurrency market they can imagine at what price levels Gold and Silver would be traded if they wouldn't be  kept down for only one reason to make the weak US Federal Reserve Note just look strong. The hegemony of the Greenback as world reserve currency will fail sooner than later. So some of the PM enthusiasts  as Mike Maloney and Andy Hoffman are meanwhile recommending Bitcoin and some other Alts.
