Ahhhh! (*screaming in my brain!*) I do understand though in a way because my own mom used to always take us to the film rental places and let us each choose a movie every Friday. She'd also get herself one and I would usually watch it with her and some of that stuff was crazy... a lot of horror themes but she'd always say that I was mature enough to handle it and I loved watching it with her. I don't think she ever thought about it outside of that box. I wasn't complaining of nightmares or acting out so to her, I think she thought it was fine. Parents don't always think things through the whole way and what is being shown everywhere through the media is always piercing through everyone's best efforts at censorship anyway. It all goes back to what I was thinking when I was writing this... why do we have to share and create and obsess over watching this in the first place? That's where it kicks me in the gut and why I decided to change my sensory input.
