The New International Version makes the opening Scripture clearer, it says, “When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.” God wants us to be aware that He creates both good times and bad time and we need to prepare for both times. In times of prosperity be joyful, save, and invest to prepare for the bad times so that you don’t feel the intensity of it. Having this knowledge in you helps you to order your life and prepare well for the future so that you don’t complain, especially when the times are bad.
