You cannot purchase Crypto with Jaxx, but it is a multi-currency wallet and has Shapeshift on board. Shapeshift is really genius and Jaxx is the first to have it as a feature. Trade with yourself, as soon as a new coin hits Shapeshift.io it is worth investing in general.

Oh I see. :) Any idea for what to use to replace coinbase entirely since I can't use it because they wont let me add any payment method? haha I think someone mentioned other wallets. I will go reread comments now that I am less furious. Shapeshift does seem genius!! I will definitely keep jaxx and at least it helped me be able to access my ETH. I could sent it back to coinbase as BTC if I wanted just to have enough to buy the PC and monitor and then just look into options for changing my wallet. :)

There are ATMs in my city, but the exchange rate is high. I have not used Kraken, but I am told they accept USD from a credit card. Coinbase really has the market cornered as far as I know. I usually swap cash for BTC straight up with anyone I know in Baltimore MD. People are the best way to get BTC in my opinion, but I only meetup during daylight hours at a local police station.
