Stephen, we need Steem ads badly to burn Steem to increase value. Their needs to be a ad box in the white space on all Steem blogs. If we want the Steem price to go up this is a must. Over 10,000 active users require a Steem attention token to be paid. Advertisers will pay for side ads in Steem. The way its currently set up theres only users extracting value and not putting it in. Just something I have seen for a long time. Promoting on the promote page is worthless. What do you think?

No. No. No. No. No. The last thing Steemit wants is adverts messing up the game. That will be like going back in time. Steemit HAS to stay ad free . The moment we start introducing ads then we are no diffferent from the rest. Steem as a currency HAS to be 100% self sufficient and not dependent on any third party. I been here long time and just see the users extracting the value out of the system and not giving it back. The ads are the way to get the value into the system whilst content creators will still be able to "cash out" or stay powered up. My concern here is that the value will continue to leak out of the Steem if we don't come up with a very strong reason to power up.

I totally understand the frustration people see but this will change when more leave their liquidity in than take it out. It is a simple balancing act at the moment and this is set to turn. Think of it as a dripping tap filling a pool and a hole at the bottom. If more comes out then goes in the price drops. If however the dripping tap turns to a hosepipe and the hole is plugged then STEEM would go to the moon. This is most likely to happen very soon. Just like it did with Bitcoin..!! Stephen

No, please, no ads! Besides, the ad-based model has about run its course... at 10-15 cents per 1000 impressions, it brings in a pittance unless you're a Facebook or eBay. What's needed is peripheral business models that revolve around Steem as a currency and form of payment: a peer-to-peer marketplace, a charity/followers fundraising app based on Steem, a crowdfunding app based on Steem; maybe a radio/podcast platform where the creators get tipped in Steem... and so forth, and so on. When situations are created in which Steem is USED as a form of payment, investors will see that there's an "internal economy" behind Steem... and the price will start going up. Besides, such business venture/apps will be far more capable of plugging "revenue holes" (if everything cost a 1% commission) than ads could ever do.
