Messaging App Kik Launches Cryptocurrency Payment

<p>Kik was founded in 2009 with the goal of creating a multi platform chat application.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Kik is an instant messaging mobile app that allows users to send and receive messages without registering a phone number.</p>
<p>The application is predominantly used by teens and young adults.</p>
<p>"Today, Kik is the best way to connect with friends, no matter where you meet them. But it’s also become so much more. <p>Kik currently boasts 15 million active monthly users.</p>

<p>Kik is creating a digital currency called kin to use for internal “communications, information and commerce.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kik will provide integrated Kin wallets for transactions. Users will be able to earn and make purchases within the messaging app.</p>

Yeah I can totally see kik working with that, as a previous user the potential is big . But it falls behind other services like telegram. Also I think the active users are lower than that

I have never used the app myself, I am glad a "previous user" like yourself could share your opinion.
From what I can tell, it seems Kik is more of a niche market kind of thing, although this is still positive news for crypto advocates.
I definitely see this trend of socials using crypto continuing.

I use it when I was in high school three years ago , its meant to be used by teenagers mostly so that niche market is right there
