I think people see this as an extra easy to earn from their posts and maybe do so beyond 7 days. I've earned a couple of Snax from Twitter so far and will l at adding my Steem account. They should not need any rights to my account, but your observations of the wallet are interesting. Maybe they can respond on those.

Indeed. So far it does seem like an easy way to earn extra tokens. It's not going to cost you much after the initial setup, so why not? I have also linked my Steem account to Snax. So far it does not require any permissions on Steem and Twitter The chrome extension does seem a little odd. However, if you only enable it when you are logging into Snax, that should be safe enough
