Wow the trees look absolutely incredible! I wonder if the forest is named after John Muir? A Scotsman whom is known as the "Father of national parks" and I think his first park was Yosemite and to this day the John Muir trust still protects lands across the world .. including many in Scotland. I shall have to check if there is a connection .. either way, what a fantastic place, I love forests .. in a few days I'll be spending a couple of nights camping in a beautiful wooded valley/chasm and will be sure to load some pictures.
