I have actually been working on a randomized version of voting and I think we should find a way to give manual curation the biggest edge over auto. - As for circle jerking, we can downvote people who are putting up spam. It is the get around, you are right. However, there are circle jerks now, but at least if a celebrity comes on the platform people will want to spread their upvotes to those people if their goal is solely short term gains. There is a hole in every system that can be exploited, the goal is to find the best balance, IMO.

I don't know what type of change we would have to do, but I would love to see a change being made so the active, manual curators would get a bigger piece of the pie compared to the passive, inactive users.
