Hahaha, thanks a lot mate! Actually, I was in the last year where the University department had money in the pot as they could sponsor my PhD. I joined JUST before the credit crunch happened in 2008 and the undergrad tuition fees were around £1,250 per year, unlike the £9k now. I did get a loan out but I've managed to pay it back now and I'm grateful because I'm aware students are racking up debt like nothing going to university now. Sad. On the plus side though (if I remember correctly), they would only start paying the debt back if they earn more than £21k per year after finishing. And it comes out as a tax (from pay cheque) rather than having to pay it separately so it's already taken care of in that sense. I hope you enjoy the celebrations!

Haha, well, it went to £3k per year tuition fees the year after I started my first year of Undergraduate which was 2005 (triple what I was paying) then it tripled to £9k a few years later, some Universities charging £12k per year now! I really don't think that Higher Education has increased 12 fold as a lot of the lecturers I saw used the same regurgitated format year on year so it really cannot be justified. I will do my best to stay lucky mate haha!
