I almost bought the M50 last month. I decided to max out what I already have instead and see what happens. By the way, you can still use your Final Cut. 1. Navigate to: /Applications/Final Cut Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Final Cut Pro 2. click on that and it will load. Some 32 bit stuff wont work properly, but you can get 90% functionality. 3. (optional) create a shortcut to that file on your desktop so you don't have to navigate every time.
