Hey @mrchef111,

This is interesting! I have a few questions about the video, were you able to rank it right away or did it take several months or even years until it took off?

Also, I noticed that you did not mention any particular brand, well I mean some of them briefly but it isn't really "branded content" or not sure how they are calling it... So do you have any idea why it is generating that much revenue?

I have a video which has about 80k views, and it made about 20Dollar (lol) It's number 1 on Youtube, and nobody seems to be interested in it. (Well, people are watching it, and it has lots of watch time, but nobody wants to pay ads for it if that makes any sense ðŸĪŠ) Whereas another one which I have uploaded recently made already the same amount and it has a few 1000 views, also number 1 on Youtube. It was a review of a famous brand.

So I am not getting it. 🙃

Melissa

Hi Melissa!! :) It's funny some of my videos I have been able to rank right away, and others have taken time to build up steam...no pun intended, lol. The crepe video wasn't ranked right away, but it was always on at least the first or second page of search. Well one thing I know about ads is google is sneaky, they will look at your searching on google to see what your interests are, and then when you watch Youtube videos you will start seeing related ads! lol. So for example, I remember I searched for Mene to look at the gold company, next thing I knew I was seeing ads when I watch youtube videos or little banners, about Mene. If you have viewers that are constantly looking up content on how to grow an online business or investing, ads that play on that kind of content typically seem to pay higher it seems. And it depends on the time of year, Adsense revenue is much higher in December then it is in January, because advertisers have budget remaining. etc. With yours it could be that the people watching your famous brand review video are watching other content or searching other things related, and the ads that show up for them are generating more money, or something along those lines. :) Does any of that make sense? haha

That's very interesting!

Well, it makes sense. So the way I see it that you have to find the people who are really talking about the products or in this particular case searching for the products that are paying more revenue. I guess it depends in what niche you are in but in your video for example you are mentioning Nutella and I guess that people who love Nutella are buying sweets in masses haha.

Bascially, it would be about creating different kind of videos and see which one is performing the best or gives the best revenue and create similar videos? Sorry I did not check it but did you try that already? If so where you able to rank them, or was the revenue similar? (I mean compare to the views you got)

This is by far the most interesting video that I have seen 😀

It will just vary. I wouldn't try and make videos because you think they will generate more revenue. I would just keep doing the things you are doing to build your channel. Make the videos that you want to make, some niche's just make more then others. For example the "how to build and online business" niche traditionally pays more, but if you don't anything about that, you probably shouldn't make videos on it haha. :)
