Everyone has a different experience with Peyote spirit it seems, yet a connection and similarity is always prevalent. I have participated many times in this ceremony and lead sweat lodge during them as well. It is called a "looks within" ceremony as Peyote spirit comes to you and gives a comforting and compassionate energy which allows us to look at our "stuff" with care and love as to not get caught up in self abnegation. Thanks for sharing your experience. BTW you don't have to be a member of the church in order to participate. Legally, there must only be a church elder (one of the original 3 card holders that formed the church) present.
