It is so necessary that we simply STOP cutting so many trees.  Earth building, different forms of heating, homes that are insulated and warmed by the sun... it is all possible, cheap and easy.  Then the trees can be at peace and grow to maturity, giving shade and oxygen, food and a home for the birds and the critters.  As it should be.
