Communities on a Steem interface soon with STRATOS + Keychain on Steempeak.

I'm a little bit short on time this morning. I had a very old client calling for some help and I'm off soon.

Anyway, I was reading two awesome things this morning.

#### 1. Communities are coming to a Steem interface soon according to @shredz7.

@shredz7 has been working on implementing communities on top of Steem independently. 

He now has completed a Minimal Viable Product (MVP).

This is awesome news.

Communities are part of his bigger project called 'STRATOS'.

> The Stratos DApp will launch with only one feature - communities. Communities will have the ability to be open or restricted, and have advanced administration features including 4 different ranks able to be granted to different members, each having different positions. Currently communities are at the MVP stage - the development is done (nearly, there is one change currently in testing) for the base version and I am in conversations with an interface about integrating communities into their interface. The communities project will evolve to meet the interfaceโ€™s needs, so that it will be able to be integrated into any other interface easily.

Can't wait to see what this will look like. 

The reason I'm so happy about these things is because independent development on these fronts outside of Steemit inc. is extremely important for the longevity of this chain.

Keychain has become my preferred way of interacting with different Steem interfaces on my computer. 

It works well and is secure and user friendly.

I'm happy to see more frontends are implementing it.

It's just a plugin for Chrome now but I heard Firefox is on it's way.

That is exciting news.  The photography community is big here and this will be good for it.  I also like the idea that it could be connected to EOS and Tron as well.  I don't like the tribalism in crypto, united we stand, divided we fall.

The keychain news is great as it seems to be where most Dapps are seeking to go over time to integrate with key management.  I have also heard that it can be used with the Brave browser so I will definitely give it a try soon!

I started using Keychain with Steem Monsters and I have been very impressed with it.  Since I have to sometimes get into my Steem Monsters account and my wife's on the same computer, this makes it  very easy.  That is very exciting about communities.  I still can't quite wrap my head around how they are going to work and what the benefit will be, but I know it is something people have been wanting for a while.  That makes it exciting that it is finally going to become a reality.
