This is especially true for street performance. It’s so easy to scramble and think any sunny day or crowded street is a missed opportunity. But that kind of scrambling mindset translates to a kind of beggar’s mentality where things are scarce and we have to push it to succeed. And that feeling is such a turn off to be potential audience who might support our work if it only had a more calm and natural vibe.

Yup I was once a street musician with my friend Jake, we did 20+ hours per week of "busking" each week but sadly like you said, because we were too focused on **quantity** of hours, we did not earn a good amount of money *per* hour and had to give up. In retrospect more focus on quality (in this case - selling more CDs and merch, better social media presence, more actual gigs) would have been better than cramming in so many hours in those freezing cold Boston subway stations playing Toto's Africa over and over lol *I bless the rains down in Aaaaaaafrica*

Exactly. I see musicians sometimes looking so sad and hungry for cash sitting there 8 hours a day, when all that energy packed into a few good short sets could bring much more appreciation and energy.
