The blockchain has one purpose and one purpose only: to obviate the need for the middleman. If Roubini was right about one thing it was the uselessness of the private blockchain controlled by a single entity. A fully decentralized ledger has one huge advantage over a centralized ledger. Manual audits will become unnecessary.
