In Italia abbiamo anche uno dei circuiti automobilistici più belli del mondo.
Su questa pista corrono le vetture più veloci del mondo. Su questa pista tanti piloti si sono sfidati per arrivare primi ed essere ricordati come i più veloci di tutti i tempi.
Uno dei pionieri che tracciarono queste curve fu Checco Costa, il padre del noto dott. Costa (fondatore della Clinica mobile).
Il circuito nasce su una sponda del fiume Santerno e fu inaugurato nel 1953. 
Qui hanno corso e vinto: Nelson Piquet, Didier Pironi, Alain Prost, Elio De Angelis, Nigel Mansell, Riccardo Patrese, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher e Damon Hill. Molti di questi piloti hanno vinto anche il mondiale di Formula UNO, questo per dimostrare che a Imola, di solito, vinceva il più bravo.
All'interno del circuito c'è un museo dove sono esposte autovetture di Forula 1, un monumento dedicato al pilota della Ferrari Gilles Villeneuve e un bellissimo parco con un monumento dedicato ad Ayrton Senna.
In questo circuito si sono viste sfide epiche e due episodi che rimarranno per sempre nella storia della FORMULA 1:
1-**Il gran premio del 1982** vinto da Pironi ai danni di Villeneuve. Gran premio nel quale Villeneuve, durante gli ultimi giri, era in prima posizione e ascoltò gli ordini di scuderia che erano quelli di rallentare e mantenere le posizioni per non stressare i motori (cosa molto difficile per un pilota come lui), mentre Pironi (che faceva parte del team FERRARI come Villeneuve) ignorò gli ordini e superò Villeneuve all'ultima curva andando a vincere quel gran premio. Quell'episodio aprì un momento "buio" nella FORMULA 1 perchè mostrò un'immagine forte di "tradimento" che portò Villeneuve a superare ogni limite nella gara successiva, gara in cui il pilota più amato del momento superò ogni limite e lasciò questo mondo.
2-**Il gran primio del 1994**. Il gran premio che cambiò per sempre la FORMULA 1. Il gran Primio del 1994 doveva essere il gran premio del riscatto del miglior pilota di tutti i tempi, AYRTON SENNA. In quel gran premio SENNA sottolineò diversi punti critici per la sicurezza dei piloti, facendo anche un giro di pista con gli addetti della sicurezza. SENNA morì proprio nei pressi del punto che lui segnalò come il più pericoloso. Quello fu uno dei gran premi più importanti del mondo delle corse perchè cambiò totalmente le misure di sicurezza dei circuiti e delle autovetture.

In Italy we also have one of the most beautiful car circuits in the world.
On this track run the fastest cars in the world. On this track many drivers have challenged each other to arrive first and be remembered as the fastest of all time.
One of the pioneers who drew these curves was Checco Costa, the father of the famous Dr. Costa (founder of the Mobile Clinic).
The circuit was built on a bank of the Santerno river and was inaugurated in 1953. 
Here have raced and won: Nelson Piquet, Didier Pironi, Alain Prost, Elio De Angelis, Nigel Mansell, Riccardo Patrese, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill. Many of these drivers also won the Formula One world championship, this to show that at Imola, usually, the best won.
Inside the circuit there is a museum where Forula 1 cars are exhibited, a monument dedicated to Ferrari driver Gilles Villeneuve and a beautiful park with a monument dedicated to Ayrton Senna.
In this circuit epic challenges were seen and two episodes that will remain forever in the history of FORMULA 1:
1-**The 1982 grand prix** won by Pironi against Villeneuve. A grand prix in which Villeneuve, during the last laps, was in first position and listened to the team orders to slow down and keep the positions in order not to stress the engines (something very difficult for a driver like him), while Pironi (who was part of the FERRARI team like Villeneuve) ignored the orders and overtook Villeneuve at the last curve going to win that grand prix. That episode opened a "dark" moment in FORMULA 1 because it showed a strong image of "betrayal" that led Villeneuve to exceed all limits in the next race, race in which the most beloved driver of the moment exceeded all limits and left this world.
2-**The 1994 Grand Prix**. The grand prix that changed forever the FORMULA 1. The grand prix of 1994 was supposed to be the grand prix of the redemption of the best driver of all times, AYRTON SENNA. In that grand prix SENNA pointed out several critical points for the safety of the drivers, even doing a lap with the safety officers. SENNA died near the point that he pointed out as the most dangerous. That was one of the most important grand prix of the racing world because it totally changed the safety measures of the circuits and the cars.
