From my chamber: A patient with very low Hemoglobin | IAAC #12
leHello, beautiful people of the Hive platform! How do you do? How is your life at your end? Hope that everything is happening according to your plan and expectation. I am also fine, Alhamdulillah. This is my 12th #iamalivechallenge post, the project run by @flaxz. This is also going to be my today's @actifit report. Firstly, I am going to share a case history of a  middle-aged patient with a very low hemoglobin (Hb). Secondly, I am going to mention why am I grateful for today. And thirdly, I am going to share the proof of today's win. Please bear with me :)

## The case history

Today morning, one Bangladeshi middle-aged patient of 40-years of age came to my chamber. He was kinda a regular patient in our clinic. Today was his 6th visit in last one year. He was a patient of hypertension. During last year, sometimes his BP was under control, sometimes wasn't. He was started with a single anti-hypertensive medicine. However, his BP wasn't controlled with that. So, around 3 months earlier, another drug was added with the previous one. According to him, after starting the second drug, he started have a few problems day by day.  One of the most troubling problems was the lack of appetite, hence couldn't eat his full for the last several months. He was feeling severe weakness, fatigued and lethargic most of the time along with nausea. Recently, he started having itchy rashes in his right upper abdominal area. He didn't have any history of per-rectal bleeding or jaundice. However, considering his nausea and anorexia, he himself wanted to do the liver function test (LFT). I added a CBC (complete blood count) test with the LFT. 

His LFT came back normal except a little raised level of total bilirubin. However, in CBC, his Hb level came only 6.3 g/dl, which is very low (normal range is 14-18 g/dl for men). Other counts in CBC were within normal limits. 

According his Hb level, he needed urgently blood transfusion.  Also he needed evaluations for finding out the causes for such low Hb. So, I sent him to the higher centre with a referral letter.
