Hi everyone! I have an amazing opportunity coming my way and as a result I will have to take a break from steemit. I know, I know, I just got back! No worries though because this break will leave me with tons to write about! I will be participating in an eco-build!! Aaaaah I’m so excited!!!!!

We had some ducklings hatch a couple days ago. Our best clutch yet!

A while ago I started following this eco-building company? Group? I don’t know what to call them but it doesn’t matter. Then a few months ago I was scrolling through my facebook feed and saw that they would be working on a build in Georgia starting in June. I quickly pulled up google maps to find out how far it would be. Turns out its only 3 ½ hrs from me so I contacted them with a couple more questions.

17 adorable little ducklings



 We will be building 2 strawbale/cob/timber frame cabins. This is so incredibly exciting for me as this is exactly the way we want to build our forever home. I will be able to get some hands on experience to use in the future even though it’ll be a long time before I can use it. In addition to being the perfect combination of materials these buildings will also go through the permitting process. I’m hoping to learn a little about that process and the challenges to overcome there.

Since I will be camping on site I don’t believe I will have the opportunity to update you guys on the project however I will be taking a notebook with me and when I get back I will make a series of posts about the build and my experience. I hope you all stick around until I get back!
