Scientific publication industry is one of the most profitable business. However, the economic model is deemed to be inefficient.

A brief look at this model tells us that the publishers are the ones that make the most profit. Other known issues are high publication cost, copyrights, lack of transparency and biased publications.
## Orvium
Orvium aims to be the leading platform for scientific researches that could benefit the community and society by increasing the efficiency and improving the quality of publications using the blockchain technology. Smart contacts, decentralized storage, big data analytics and cloud computing will be integrated into the platform. The publication model on Orvium platform will be designed in a way that it:
1. Allows anyone to submit a manuscript and create a public proof-of-existence and authorship.
2. Allows the community to conduct peer review on the manuscript.

## The ORV Token
The ORV token, which is an ERC-20 type token that is generated on the Ethereum blockchain, will be used to fuel the platform for:
1. Staking a manuscript to encourage the community to make reviews and rewarding the reviewers.
2. Staking a challenge to the community to solve scientific problems and rewarding the community for coming up with solutions.
3. Accessing any paid content which will be then paid directly to the authors.
All transactions within the Orvium platform will be verified using smart contracts.
