I'm impressed at how brave my 11 year old son is

We went to the swimming pool again tonight. It's a weekly thing we are doing. Hanging out at the pool. I noticed that my son has grown up with a very different ethos than I did. What I love about watching him at the pool is that he is totally and utterly unconcerned with other people's opinions about him. He takes his time on the divingboard to decide what he's going to do. He hems and haws a bit and then decides he's not going to actually jump. So even though people are waiting, he turns around and climbs back down. Not a single bit of him feels awkward or embarrassed about it. He's just not prepared to jump at this time and he doesn't care what it looks like to other people.

I'm so proud of this. He's got more courage than most people.
