Interesting and thought provoking post.  We must not forget to be happy though, because that is the key to everything. When we ourselves are truly happy that love automatically affects all those around us. And our personal happiness comes before all else, because if we are not in a good place i.e. depressed etc. we are certainly not in a position to be of help to anyone else let alone truly love them.
