Yes the way it harms the children both psychologically and that they actually keep them in worse physical conditions to stir sympathy makes this very much a moral crime with real victims. I too think it is important to work locally with our volunteering. I love your idea though that when we're volunteering abroad it should be with the land in a way that helps the people, but not working directly with the youths, especially orphans.
