Every generation has said similar things about the new generations coming up. People don't like change and they automatically think anything different is bad. There are a lot of very broad statements made in this article without much information to back them up. 

I will say that studies show that today is one of the safest times to be alive. People say you can't leave your children outside anymore, the stats tell a different story. 

The fact is the media makes it out to be worse than ever, because that viewpoint sells. There is no truth behind it, but it creates headlines and gets people talking.
