Food/Fun/Action Photos Challenge - Keto Steak & Retirement

Hubby's on Keto which is not easy when we go to restaurants, but recently more and more are offering Keto and Banting options.

So when we took a drive down the coast this week to look at retirement options, we were thrilled to see a couple of Banting options on the menu of the Umdoni Park Golf Club Restaurant where we stopped for a leisurely lunch with our friends who are also checking out options.

Yep we're well into our Autumn years now but still run our little airbnb [Lily's Cottage](www.lilyscottage.co.za) which has gotten really busy with regular students from a nearby training centre. 

Since getting registered with the local authority and tourism organisations and moving from only being on airbnb to other online booking sites, our occupancy percentages have increased.
I'm really thankful BUT the days are being *over-filled* with guests, early morning breakfasts, dinners and admin in between. 

We saw a lovely well-run retirement village down the coast, where one to three bedroom homes are on offer, but the waiting list is quite long. This suits us perfectly as we are not quite ready to stop working and become laid-back retirees just yet :)  

Life in the fast lane certainly did not stop post-retirement even though the corporate world stamped us with *their sell-by-date*!

*I have done a lot of these, but not as much as I imagined retirement would be like - this was my final corporate card :)*

What an exciting time for you guys!  I've got to tell you, being "almost retired" has been quite a transition, mentally mostly.  Settling down from crazy corporate life took some time, but I have to say Steemit blogging and friends made here has been a fun transition :)  Fun time to dream and imagine what you want for this next "phase" of the journey.  It's all good,  being free to do what you want each day.  With your energy, I can imagine all sorts of creative mischief you'll be into!  Will definitely be fun to watch my friend!

I think I would have missed my work pals even more if it wasn't for Steemit, my son was very wise introducing me to the platform!
It's just been terribly busy here since March with more and more bookings via the training centre, fortunately they've all been really super young people so I will miss that when we do stop. We've really been blessed with such lovely guests so it's been a fabulous experience but we need to start slowing down one of these days. Our management style is are hands on but we do leave things to our housekeeper when we go away, but we still like giving that personal touch so that's not often enough lately!
The retirement village is super, it's a 5 min drive to the beach, secure (increased crime is a sad reality here in SA), there's loads happening there with hobby rooms, book clubs, etc etc. They even bring some theatre shows there. It's on a massive property so there's lovely walks, and the area is full of little craft shops, nature reserves etc etc. So I'm very excited and looking forward to that chapter!
