I'm a digital artist and I write whatever I feel like writing and usually keep it entertaining.  I agree, personality goes a long way.  If everyone had the same one, all posts would look the same.  In life, we hate it when our friend shows up wearing the same shirt.

As for dropping links to advertise your work.  Look around.  Do you see any experienced members doing that?  Nope.  It's frowned upon by most.  If that was how we do things here, the comment section of every post would be jammed with links and spam instead of genuine responses.  I appreciate your honesty, but just know, you might get flagged for that some day.  If the link adds to the discussion, that's usually *okay*, especially if it's not a link to your own work.  Links can be used wisely, majority of us just hate the spam style.
