The Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord is a great church holiday, which Orthodox Christians celebrate on September 27. 

The history of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord:

On this day Christians celebrate two events at once: finding the Cross and returning the Life-giving Cross from Persia. So, the queen Elena managed to find the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified.

After a long excavation,  managed to find a cave where there were three identical crosses. And one of them made a miracle - only from one touch, this Cross healed a seriously sick woman. Since then, and began to celebrate the Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord.

No, the cross isn't the one that Jesus was crucified on. It couldn't possibly matter even if it was. There's too much emphasis on relics and not enough emphasis on biblical truth. If all you did was read the Bible you'd have no idea about all the unbiblical beliefs in both the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church. Neither one is Christian.
